Since the emergence of copper-resistant *Cryptocaryon irritans* around 2006, quinine sulfate has become the gold-standard treatment. It is selectively toxic to the parasite’s free-swimming theront stage and tolerated well by most marine fish.
Dosage and administration
16.5 mg per litre (62.5 mg per gallon) in a quarantine tank. Add once. Do not dose the display tank. 25% water change at day 7; redose to maintain concentration. Total treatment 14 days.

Quinine sulfate dihydrate, USP grade.
Warnings & precautions
Will kill all invertebrates — never dose a reef tank. Use only in a bare-bottom quarantine. Avoid bright light during treatment.
